Concert Window Concert

Thanks to everyone who has downloaded my album

Blinds on Noisetrade. If you haven’t downloaded it

yet feel free to follow the link. Please leave a tip if you

feel so inclined. It would be greatly appreciated.

In other news, I will be doing a Concert Window concert

on June 17 at 8:00pm EDT. This is going to be an intimate

atmosphere, since I’ll most likely be playing from my living

room. It’s an interesting way to connect with viewers because

there is a message board that people can message me in real-

time. I’ve never done anything like this before, so I’m excited

to connect with people in this way. You can pay whatever you

want for the ticket as long as it’s $1.

In other, other news, we’re still finishing the LA EP. I’m really

excited for everyone to hear it. It’s a little more experimental

than my album, but it’s still my style of music.

Noisetrade

A few days ago I decided to upload my music to Noisetrade.

I’d rather have people buy my music, but I’m a nobody. I’m

not a house-hold name, I don’t have an established rapport,

and I haven’t proven myself to be a great songwriter yet. In

order for these things to occur, I might have to give my music

away for a period of time.

It feels unjust to put my heart and soul, my life, into my music

just to give it away when it’s all said and done. But like I said

above, I haven’t earned the right to charge people for my music.

Now that it’s available for free, I hope people will discover, listen,

and the rapport will start to be built over time.

Performances

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you might have heard

me announce a couple events coming up on Saturday, March 14th.

I’ll be appearing on Indy In-Tune radio at 1:30PM (EST) and have

a 3×5 House Gig at 7:00PM.

The radio show will consist of an interview and performance where

I’ll play 4 tracks in the studio. The house gig consists of 3 artists

performing 5 songs for the first time, hence the name 3×5 House Gig.

I haven’t played a show for 2 or 3 months, so I’m excited to perform

twice in one day.

Not Yet

The last installment of the Blinds miniseries comes

from the last song of the album.

No matter what your beliefs are on life, death,

spirituality, etc., we all want peace. We all want

harmony in our lives. We long to be loved, we long

for justice, and we long for wholeness. Basically,

we long for everything that’s wrong to be made right.

Piano Tuner

The miniseries is coming to a close. This is one of the

last entries. This song was inspired during a piano tuning.

I watch for quite some time as the tuner carefully did his

work. It was mundane, and at the same time beautiful. I

watched and listened as the man loosened and tightened

every string meticulously in order to bring them back to their

original state and sound.

I Have Longed

The end is drawing near on the Blinds miniseries,

but it has been fun to shed some light, even if it’s

only a candles-worth, on these songs. This is

inspired by the song For a Place. I believe it was

the first song I wrote once I moved to Indy. I had

no plans to leave Bloomington, but the good that

has come from it is unexplainable. For one thing,

I have a wife now. I think moving was the right decision.

Concrete

I was driving home to Indy from my hometown,

when the first spark flew. As I merged to one of

the exits, I saw the criss-crossing interstates at

a favorable angle. The imagery was reminiscent

of spiderwebs, which was the inspiration for the

first verse of Concrete.

This photo isn’t a photo of what I saw, but

somewhat paints the picture I wanted to paint

with my words.

Four Panes

The sixth installment of the miniseries is a little

different than the past few. I didn’t do this painting,

but it was the inspiration for the song, Four Panes.

My friend Nathan sent me a link to a Pinterest board

full of art, and I chose this one. It was probably the

least likely to be used. I mean look at it. It’s a painting

of old window panes. The painting and I had a staring

contest, and honestly, I think I won because I got what

I wanted from it. A song. As my mind went blank from

staring too long, it began to fill with a story. One that

was partially inspired by the home I grew up in, and

partially a made up tale. Even the made up parts

held truth within my own heart though. Four Panes

is one of my personal favorites from the album.

I’m on a Boat

I think this is the fifth installment of the miniseries.

I’m starting to lose track. This is taken from the

second verse of Foulest Fleet from Blinds.

Naughty Nautical!

Habit

Here is the fourth installment in the miniseries. I never

intended to create a miniseries, but that’s kind of what

has happened. This is taken from the first verse of Habit

from Blinds. Enjoy.
